The start of the BVQ development was the need to support our own SVC customers with the best expertise in storage planning and availability management. Today we have several hundred SVC and Storwize customers which helps us to further develop BVQ into the right direction of technical depth, efficiency and usability.

The BVQ Treemap presents data in a graphical form it is best for monitoring purposes. It is very flexible and may for instance be used to show used capacity, free space and performance information at one glance.
The BVQ Performance View can be started from any object of the BVQ Treemap it allows incredible indepth analysis of single objects or groups of objects . It is so deep that we introduced an expert and a standard mode here.
BVQ Reporting allows to create easy to understand reports for planning or daily status purposes.
BVQ Alerting informs you, when things are going wrong. For instance two sides of a mirror which are misplaced on the same Storage site.
Further modules allow you to add new disciplines like Accounting, Service Level Management, Integration of VMware storage information or Copy services management.

BVQ Accounting Package - allocating-storage cost related to performance (BVQ Accounting Package) With the BVQ Accounting Package an organizational layer can be placed on all storage objects. With the help of this layer, capacities at levels like application, servers and cost center are combined in their organization and can be evaluated later by reporting.
BVQ Service Level Management PackageBVQ Service Level Management Package SLM enables the management and monitoring of storage-related SLAs and many other security relations in the whole storage area. With the integrated alerting, the SLM package can ensure that contractual specifications are kept and security misconfigurations are detected at an early stage during migrations.
BVQ VMware integration Package(BVQ VMware Integration Package) BVQ is able to read storage-related data from the connected VMware systems and can bring them into connection with the SVC / Storwize data. This results in the administrator´s ability to see the distribution of VMware systems in the SVC / Storwize storage area and to evaluate them. By using the BVQ database, for example, an accounting can be established at the level of the VMware.
BVQ Copy Service Management Package (BVQ Copy Services Package) BVQ copy service management helps monitoring the metro and global mirror relations, which are used to save the data to an external location in a disaster case. With these mirrors a very high level of security will be generated, if they are complete and working properly at all times. In collaboration with the integrated alerting, BVQ supports the monitoring of these levels. Many administrative tasks are made easier and mistakes are avoided in this way.
