By default there is only 1 user created during the installation process of BVQ (default name: bvq, role:admin). You can modify the user & password in the repository installer within the DB access screen.

This user afterwards is used to connect to the Web UI with a web browser

(warning) Please use a supported browser to connect to the Web UI (Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Microsoft Edge) - Internet Explorer is NOT supported!

Connect to the Web UI

  1. Connect to the Web UI with a supported web browser. To connect to the Web UI locally on the BVQ Server use http://localhost. On  remote web browser use http://ip_address_of_BVQ_server or http://full_qualified_dns_name_of_BVQ_server

    Type in your user name (default: bvq) and password set up during the installation process.

  2. If the login is successful, you will be forwarded to the welcome screen

Change the password of an existing user

  1. Connect to the Web UI (see Connect to the Web UI)

  2. Navigate to the Users section to get an overview of the existing users
  3. As long as you are logged in with an user having admin privileges, you can click Edit for the corresponding user you want to change the password for

    Select Change password checkbox and type in the new password in the Password and Repeat password field
    Leave Roles unchanged
    Click Save on the bottom of the window to change the password

Create a user

  1. Connect to the Web UI (see Connect to the Web UI)

  2. Navigate to the Users section to get an overview of the existing users

  3. Click Create new user to create a new user
  4. Type in Username, Password & Repeat password, select correponding Role afterwards (see Available roles within the Web UI) & click Save to create a new user
  5. After creation the new user is visible in the Users section

Remove a user

  1. Connect to the Web UI (see Connect to the Web UI)

  2. Navigate to the Users section to get an overview of the existing users

  3. Click Delete for the user you want to remove

    Confirm deletion by clicking Yes, delete it!

  4. After confirmation, the user is deleted
